![]() ![]() She continued, “On a mammal-eating orca, the saddle patch is all one solid color, and the shape is quite a bit wider than those on a resident orca. Whereas on a salmon-eating orca, the fins are more curved in the back.” Buckmaster also noted the differences between the orcas’ saddle patches, the grayish-white marks found behind an orca’s dorsal fin. Yet, to the trained eye, it is possible to tell them apart by the subtle differences in their markings.Īccording to former FRS Clipper naturalist, Justine Buckmaster, “Typically the dorsal fins on mammal-eating whales are very sharp and pointed, very triangular. The females are smaller, growing to an average of 23 feet and weighing six tons. The largest of the dolphin family, both types of male orcas average 27 feet in length and weigh eight tons with dorsal fins growing as high as 6 feet. A transient orca breaches.ĭespite their differences in behavior, it is challenging to distinguish between the two types of orca whales physically. In fact, they seem to actively avoid each other. As such, there is no known socializing, interaction or breeding between the two types of orca whales. While the mammal-eating orcas cruise through our waters around the same time of year as the salmon-eating orca whales, they do not share the same vocalizations as them. These mammal-eating orcas have a thriving population, with, an estimated total population of 500, as of 2018. The group is usually made up of one to seven whales, such as a mother and her direct offspring. Roaming up and down the coast between Alaska and California, mammal-eating orcas travel together in small pods. The whales’ food source is mainly seals, sea lions, porpoises and occasionally larger whale species. Often seen during the spring in the Salish Sea, mammal-eating orcas hunt other marine animals that feed on the herring in our waters from May to October. He wants more than anything that all should be saved and accept him as their Savior.Mammal-Eating Orca Whales (Bigg’s or Transient Orcas)īook Now: Seattle Whale Watching Tour (Half-Day) This sign is greatly needed before all the tragedy that will fall, as described in the Book of Revelation and the return of Jesus who will judge the world (John 5:22). This is one of His miraculous ways of calling the world to repent.Ģ Peter 3:9 says that, “he is not willing that any should perish.” I believe this is an event where the Lord Himself is calling mankind to repent. ![]() This gospel shall be preached in all the world (Matthew 24:14, Mark 13:10). He is wanting mankind to come to Him and to be saved. This sign is the beginning of a great call to repentance, which is coming before Jesus returns. There was great violence and debauchery, etc. The scripture that also came to mind was Matthew 24:7, which states, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.” In the days of Noah, men lived to satisfy their own selfish desires – as it is today. This is truly a sign of the end times, because Jonah was sent to the city of Nineveh to preach repentance otherwise the city would have been destroyed. For Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly: so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Jesus on that day, May 11, 2016, has validated himself who died and was in the grave three days and three nights and rose again. Matthew 12:39 reads, “Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered saying, ‘Master, we would see a sign.’” Jesus answered in Matthew 12:39, “An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign and thus shall no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah. ![]() She took a very clean picture of it, which came out quite plainly and clearly. ![]() My son-in-law looked up also and exclaimed, “It’s an orca! Nicki, quick take its picture!” His tail was curved upward, his eye was plainly formed and visible, and his mouth slightly opened. One could plainly see that it had a fin in the middle of its back standing straight up. I shouted to my daughter, who was seated in the front seat with her husband, to look up into the sky. There was a cloud most distinctly in the shape of a whale. when we were on our way to dinner in Strasburg, while at a stop light, I looked up at something in the sky that caught my eye. On May 11, 2016, it was a cloudy, rainy day. ![]()
